Merz b. Schwanen's 1950s tee in Night Blue is new for the Fall/Winter 2020 season. This new Night Blue is darker than their Ink Blue and not quite fully black, making a nice transition color from Summer to Autumn. This shirt features a wider crew neckline and a triangle insert under the armpit for maximum comfort. Made on original loopwheelers in Germany-one of two remaining loopwheeler operations in the world, the result is a seamless tubular fabric that will be your most comfortable tee.
** Note that size 6 | L in Night Blue had an irregular production and actually runs quite similar in fit to the 5 | M. Please double check measurements. If you are typically a 6 | L in the 1950s, you may want to size up to the 7 | XL for this specific colorway. Or if you are typically a 5 | M, you could consider picking up the 6 | L for additional length while maintaining a slim body throughout. **
Note: Runs slightly small and due to shrinkage after wash, recommend sizing up one full size (exception is if you intend to wear this as an undergarment or prefer skin-tight fit). Cold wash, hang dry. Length and sleeve will shrink approximately 2" after wash. Other measurements will have about 1" shrinkage after wash, but will stretch back out to original size upon wear.
Model: 6'0'' and 175 lbs. wearing size 7 | XL (one size up from his typical 1950s tee size in 6 | L, due to irregular production on this specific size). Expect shrinkage after wash.
Measurement Note: Due to the irregularities characteristic of loopwheelers, there will be slight variations within each size (up to 0.25" variation). Additionally, consistent with how Merz measures their shirts, the Length measurement is taken from the highest point of the shirt (where the neckline and shoulder meet), instead of from the center of the neckline. In general, we do not find the irregularities significant enough to impact the size you should wear.
